About Mythic Media

Mythic Media is a growing media and creator-business agency. We help established creators build durable businesses through strategy, growth, monetization, and brand partnerships. We also manage established media and client relationships within the leather industry.

You built the audience. We build the business.

The role

We need an experienced operator to manage our team and own Mythic Media’s day-to-day execution.

This is not a virtual-assistant or task-tracking role. You will lead people, own client delivery, approve work, run meetings, improve profitability, and build systems that let the company grow.

Your mission is to proactively notice and transfer work that still depends on the owner, even when he has not formally delegated it. The goal is to reduce his operating involvement to one half-day per week by December 31, 2026, so he can focus on business growth.

What you’ll own

Manage the full team and hold people accountable.
Remove recurring work, meetings, decisions, and knowledge dependencies from the owner’s plate.
Learn through focused questions, observation, recordings, and documentation without waiting for a perfect training program.
Run the weekly operating meeting with clear priorities, owners, deadlines, and follow-up.
Ensure client deliverables are completed on time or re-scoped before the deadline.
Own client delivery, routine communication, and preventable escalations.
Serve as final internal approver for client-facing strategy and creative work.
Lead discovery calls, sales meetings, brand meetings, proposals, follow-up, and closing conversations. The owner will continue generating business.
Track capacity, pipeline, revenue, expenses, cash, and profitability by client.
Deliver a concise weekly owner report and improve team efficiency, client capacity, and profitability.
Coach the team and develop them toward greater operational responsibility.

Owner retains authority over spending, major strategy, custom pricing or contracts, legal matters, and final hiring, firing, and compensation decisions.

Success looks like

Almost all the business operations run without the owner. Commitments are completed on time. Most team and client meetings happen without him. Client-ready work goes out without his repair. Capacity and profitability improve.

Owner’s operations work should decline to no more than two days per week by Day 60, one day by Day 90, and one half-day per week by December 31, 2026.

What you bring

5 or more years of relevant operations or client-delivery experience.
2 or more years of direct people-management experience.
Experience running operations in an agency, client-service company, or similar recurring-delivery business.
Measurable results improving delivery, capacity, profitability, or founder time.
Confidence leading client and sales conversations.
Strong judgment reviewing content strategy and creative work.
Working knowledge of revenue, expenses, cash flow, client profitability, and scorecards.
A proactive, decisive, calm, direct, and low-ego leadership style.
The ability to learn from a founder who is not a natural trainer or delegator.

Creator-economy, content, or media experience is preferred.

Working arrangement

This is a full-time role Monday through Friday.

The role is hybrid and based from our office at 55130 Shelby Road, Suite B, Shelby Township, Michigan 48316. Regular in-office presence is required, with the exact cadence set around leadership meetings, team needs, client commitments, and deadlines.

We want someone who can start as soon as possible.

Compensation and growth

Annual contractor compensation is $80,000–$120,000, paid monthly and based on experience and demonstrated ability.

The role may become eligible for annual profit sharing after written performance and profitability thresholds are met.

Finalists will complete a $250 paid exercise. The selected candidate will complete reference and background checks.

Show us how you think

Record a short video introducing yourself and how you run operations. An unlisted YouTube or Loom link works great.

It’s Monday morning. An editor calls in sick with a client video due tomorrow, a second client’s invoice is 30 days overdue, and a third asks for a scope change mid-week. The owner is unreachable until evening. Walk us through exactly what you’d do, in what order, and why.

Last things

If there’s a fit, you’ll hear from us. Finalists complete a $250 paid exercise. Reference and background checks are only requested from the selected candidate.
